BFA Thesis

I explore and expose the built landscapes of our surrounding environment, and question the perception of what is natural. Humans have manipulated the areas we inhabit so completely that it is not immediately obvious any green areas left are as constructed as the buildings that surround them. The wilderness is no longer wild. I seek a shift in consciousness and collective memory, an awareness and recognition of the destructive history that lies behind seemingly serene settings. We need to start thinking in geological time, and understand we cannot continue to engineer only the nature we want to see, where we want to see it and expect our planet to survive.
